Initial Situation
Redispatch measures result in a significant administrative burden for plant operators, direct marketers, and other market participants in terms of record-keeping and billing. Missing or incomplete weather and generation data make it difficult to provide transparent documentation to the grid operator. At the same time, there is often no end-to-end process for integrating the data into existing systems and workflows. The result is time-consuming manual steps, data inconsistencies, delays, and potential revenue losses.
For reliable “Peak Light” billing, it must be possible to determine, in a traceable manner, how much electricity a wind or solar plant would have generated without the curtailment. C4 Energy provides the necessary data foundation precisely for this purpose.
Objective
The goal is to establish a fast, transparent, and audit-proof basis for billing redispatch measures to the grid operator. Manual data collection and post-processing are significantly reduced; relevant weather and generation data are made available monthly in a ready-to-use format. Upon request, C4 Energy also provides support for the design of business processes, technical integration, and quality assurance through to the system’s go-live.
Description of the Use Case
C4 Energy provides highly accurate, site-specific weather data for each plant location, along with potential generation values derived from that data. Historical weather data is automatically analyzed and converted into reliable reference values for wind and solar plants using high-quality weather models.
The data is provided once a month for the agreed-upon billing period, for example, via email or SFTP, in a file format suitable for further processing. This allows redispatch reports to be prepared more quickly, documented in a traceable manner, and billed to grid operators.
We offer consulting and implementation services from a single source: We analyze existing billing processes, define suitable data transfer formats and interfaces, assist with integration into existing systems, and provide support for quality assurance. The scope of consulting services is tailored to your organization, system landscape, and plant portfolio.
